Connecticut Gazette Oct. 25, 1782 Printed by Timo Green with front page story about the Indians taking a Major John Lee and his family prisoner and without hesitation killed and scalped seven of the thirteen captives. It further states that 62 of the town's people have been "butchered by Indians". Also contains an extract of a letter by Thomas Paine. Separating at binding; edge wear and foxing, but very readable. |
